Six Fishermen Rescued by Jet Ski Operators off Snake Island After their Boat Capsized

Six Fishermen were rescued by three Jet Ski Operators off Snake Island near Corbyn’s Cove Beach in Port Blair on 1st December 2021 at about 4:30 Pm. According to sources, the Jet Ski Operators who saved the life of the six fishermen includes Mr. Naresh, Mr. Dilip Kumar Ram and Mr. Sanjay Das.

Sources also informed that the fishing boat in which these fishermen were travelling capsized near Snake Island and the lives of the fishermen were at risk because of the inclement weather.

The water sports activities at Corbyn’s Cove Beach was closed on 1st December 2021 due to the bad weather but the information was passed from a photographer to the President of the Andaman Sea Adventure Association.

Soon the members of the association coordinated with some Jet Ski Operators who live nearby and called them to the spot. The brave Jet Ski Operators risked their lives in inclement weather to save the six fishermen.

 According to sources the Jet Ski rescue was not easy and the bad weather threw several challenges before the operators, but their bravery and sense of duty towards humanity helped them overcome all obstacles and they saved the six fishermen. 

It is unknown what the fishing boat was doing near Snake Island even in this bad weather.

It is being reported that all six fishermen are in stable condition. Each of the three Jet Ski Operators rescued two fishermen each.

The bravery of the Jet Ski Operators should be commended by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration and the Govt. of India.

The boat which capsized near snake Island with six fishermen on board was named ‘MFV-ROJA’ and was a twin-engine fishing boat with a length of 13.900 Mtrs.
