In a significant step towards promoting environmental sustainability, the SKSSF Andaman State Committee has successfully concluded its ambitious green mission — “Khairath – 1000 Gifts for the Future” — by planting a total of 1,037 trees across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Launched in connection with Van Mahotsav 2025, the campaign aimed to foster environmental consciousness and encourage community participation in ecological preservation. The initiative surpassed its original goal of planting 1,000 trees, with plantations carried out in all three districts of the Union Territory:

– South Andaman: 915 trees

  • North & Middle Andaman: 92 trees
  • Nicobar District: 30 trees

The campaign saw enthusiastic involvement from SKSSF volunteers, students, teachers, and local community members, who came together to plant trees in schools, public spaces, and community grounds.

Speaking on the occasion, SKSSF Andaman leaders expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported the cause. “This is not just about numbers; it’s about planting seeds of hope for a cleaner, greener tomorrow,” said a spokesperson.

The SKSSF also extended special thanks to the Forest Department, educational institutions, and other supporting organisations for their cooperation and encouragement during the campaign.

While the “Khairath” campaign has officially concluded, SKSSF Andaman emphasized that their commitment to environmental protection will continue. “Together, we can grow a better future,” the committee stated.
