Department of Social Welfare is providing financial assistance to senior citizens, widows, destitute women, and Divyangjan. Beneficiaries receive Rs. 2,500 per month, with senior citizens over the age of 80 receiving Rs. 3,000 per month. To ensure the continuation of these benefits, beneficiaries must submit an annual Life Certificate as mandated by the A & N Administration.
Beneficiaries are required to furnish their Life Certificate in the prescribed format. This format is available at all Anganwadi Centres and the offices of the Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) – Urban (Dollygunj), Ferrargunj, Rangat, Diglipur, and Car Nicobar.
The process involves signing the Life Certificate in the presence of a nearby Anganwadi Worker and handing it over to them. The Anganwadi Worker will then forward the certificate to the CDPO Office via the Mukhya Sevikas of the respective areas. Beneficiaries do not need to visit any office other than their nearby Anganwadi Centre for this submission.
For those who are bedridden or have locomotor disabilities and are unable to visit an Anganwadi Centre, caregivers or guardians should inform the Anganwadi Worker. In such cases, a representative from the Department will visit the beneficiary’s home to collect the Life Certificate.
The deadline for submitting the Life Certificate is July 15, 2024. Failure to submit by this date will result in the suspension of pension benefits. Beneficiaries are urged to adhere to this deadline to avoid any disruption in their financial assistance.
