The Social Welfare Department of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration has issued a reminder to all Old Age, Destitute, Widow, and Handicapped pensioners who are yet to submit their Life Certificates. Pensioners have been asked to submit their life certificates to their local Anganwadi Workers or Mukhya Sevika by October 31, 2024, to continue receiving their pensions. Failure to comply will result in the suspension of pension payments.

The Life Certificate must be submitted in the prescribed format, which is readily available at all Anganwadi Centres and the offices of Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) in Urban (Dollygunj), Ferrargunj, Rangat, Diglipur, and Car Nicobar.

Pensioners are instructed to complete the process by signing their Life Certificate in the presence of a nearby Anganwadi Worker, who will then forward the document to the respective CDPO Office through the Mukhya Sevikas. This streamlined process eliminates the need for beneficiaries to visit any other office apart from their local Anganwadi Centre.

For bedridden individuals or those with locomotor disabilities who are unable to visit an Anganwadi Centre, caregivers or guardians can notify the Anganwadi Worker. In such cases, a representative from the Social Welfare Department will visit the pensioner’s home to collect the Life Certificate.

Beneficiaries are urged to comply with the deadline to ensure uninterrupted pension disbursements.
