SOP On Preventive Measures in Restaurant/Bars/Floating Bars to Contain the Spread of COVID-19 During New Year Celebrations Notified

The District Administration South Andaman has notified the Standard Operating Procedure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Restaurant/Bars/Floating Bars in vessels. The SOP lays out that all Restaurant/Bars/Floating Bars must take suitable measures to restrict any further transmission of COVID-19 transmission while providing services.

The SOP notifies that the Restaurants/Bars/Floating Bars should have mandatory hand hygiene (Sanitiser Dispenser) and thermal screening provisions. It would be mandatory for the guests to wear face masks. Restaurants, Bars and Floating Restaurants have been instructed to deploy adequate manpower for management to ensure social distancing. The staffs deployed have been advised to wear gloves and take other required precautions.

The timings of the operations of the Restaurants/Bars/Floating Bars have been capped to the existing orders and present excise policy. Employees in higher risk have been advised to take extra precautions, it has been advised that such employees must not be exposed to any front line work. Restaurant/Bars/Floating Bars have been advised to restrict the number of people in the elevator to maintain social distancing.

Restaurants/Bars/Floating Bars have been advised to plan their seating to ensure adequate social distancing. They have also been asked to use good quality paper napkin instead of cloth napkins. It has also been instructed to maintain social distancing during the buffet service.

Cleaning and regular disinfection of frequently touched surfaces have also been advised in the SOP.
