In a sustained effort to safeguard public assets and ensure lawful use of government land, the District Administration, South Andaman has intensified its vigil against encroachments across the district. As part of this ongoing drive, a major eviction operation was conducted on December 30, 2025, at Austinabad and Brookshabad villages.
During the operation, Revenue officials removed unauthorized encroachments on government revenue land, including fencing and four temporary structures at Austinabad village. Additionally, two temporary structures erected illegally on government land at Brookshabad village were also dismantled. Through the eviction drive, approximately 4,500 square metres of government land was successfully reclaimed and restored to its original condition by the District Revenue authorities.
The District Administration has reiterated its commitment to protecting community spaces and public property from illegal occupation by unscrupulous elements. Residents have been strongly advised to refrain from unauthorized occupation of government land, with the administration warning that stringent legal action will be initiated against violators.

The eviction drive is expected to continue in the coming days as part of the administration’s broader effort to reclaim and preserve government land for lawful and community-oriented use.
