In a decisive move to protect Government land, the District Administration of South Andaman carried out extensive eviction operations at North Bay village and Bambooflat on 13th October.

During the operation, authorities identified and removed large-scale encroachments on Government land under the possession of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) at North Bay village. An area measuring 500 square meters was cleared and handed over to APWD officials for protection and future use.

In a parallel action near the Tsunami Shelter at Bambooflat, the Revenue Department, with support from the Police Department and field staff, dismantled an unauthorised shed structure, restoring 1,000 square meters of Government land to its original condition.

The District Administration reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal occupation of public land and warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to encroach upon Government property in the future.

Members of the public can report any encroachments or complaints to the District Control Room at 03192-240127 / 238881 / 1070 / 9531888844 (WhatsApp). Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential to protect individuals.
