The District Administration of South Andaman has taken strict action against individuals involved in illegal extraction and unauthorized dumping of earth, in violation of Land Revenue Regulations and Mines and Mineral Rules.
During a recent field inspection at Austinabad village, revenue officials discovered unauthorized activities where approximately 25 cubic meters of earth had been extracted and transported to Brichgunj village without the necessary permissions. The violators were fined Rs. 50,000 for their actions.
The Deputy Commissioner has issued a stern warning to all involved in illegal mining, earth transportation, and unauthorized dumping. The administration reiterated that such activities will not be tolerated and strict legal action will be taken against violators. “The law will take its own course, and those attempting to bypass it will face consequences,” the statement said.
Residents have been urged to adhere to all legal provisions related to land use, mining, and material transportation. Any suspicious activities concerning illegal dumping, mining, or movement of earth and minerals can be reported immediately to the District Control Room at 03192-240127, 238881, 1070, or via WhatsApp at 9531888844. District administration assured that the identities of informants will be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety.
