South Andaman District Administration Intends to Organise Mega Job Mela

 Port Blair, Nov 10 2020

The South Andaman District Administration intends to organise a Mega Job Mela on 5th of December 2020 in association with the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Nicobar Times has accessed a letter written by the Deputy Commissioner to the President of ACCI which states that, the pandemic has caused heavy job loss in the private sector, mainly due to shutting down of most of the commercial activities due to lockdown.

The letter further states that the world is on the path of recovery now and it has created a good demand for employees and the District Administration wants to utilise the opportunity to facilitate skill set match between the aspiring employees and the employers.

The concerned shareholders have been asked to forward their requirements for employees as soon as possible. This move of the South Andaman District Administration should indeed be appreciated since the pandemic has really caused havoc in the private job market and many of the local youth are now jobless.

Andaman and Nicobar Administration should appreciate the South Andaman District Administration for this move and the District Administration North and Middle Andaman and District Administration Nicobar should also join the initiative and connect the aspiring employees with employers to facilitate jobs for the youth of their district.

The private job market in Nicobar District is almost negligible, therefore the District Administration Nicobar could connect the aspiring employees to employers in South Andaman virtually for an interview and if the skillset of the employee matches the need of the employer, the employee can later shift to Port Blair at his discretion.
