The District Administration of South Andaman has ramped up its efforts to tackle encroachments across the district, launching continuous eviction drives to remove unauthorised structures from government lands and public spaces. This initiative seeks to restore these areas to their rightful status, free from unlawful occupation by unscrupulous elements.

In a recent operation at Hutbay village, revenue officials successfully removed two temporary encroachments, clearing a total area of 300 square meters of government land. The area has now been returned to its original state, marking another step in the Administration’s ongoing efforts to protect public and government properties.

The Administration has remained vigilant in combating unauthorised constructions, ensuring swift and decisive action against violators. The reclaimed land will be safeguarded for future development and public welfare projects, benefiting the broader community.

In a public advisory, the District Administration urges citizens to respect government land and warns that any attempts at encroachment will lead to stringent legal consequences. The public is also encouraged to report any incidents of encroachment or seek further information by contacting the District Control Room at 03192-240127 / 238881 / 1070 or through WhatsApp at 9531888844. To protect the identity of informants, all reports will be kept confidential.

The District Administration’s continuous vigilance highlights its commitment to maintaining the integrity of public spaces and ensuring their proper use for the welfare of the community.
