With the arrival of the monsoon season, the South Andaman District Administration has issued an advisory urging residents to remain alert to potential hazards, particularly those posed by dangerous trees and the risk of landslides.
To ensure prompt response during emergencies, the District Control Room has been made operational round the clock. Citizens can report incidents or seek assistance by dialling the helpline number 1077, which is available 24/7.
In anticipation of monsoon-related challenges, the administration has already undertaken several precautionary measures aimed at mitigating the risks associated with extreme weather events. Officials have also appealed to residents to closely monitor weather updates and strictly follow safety advisories issued by the authorities to safeguard life and property.
