South Andaman District Administration Takes Strict Action Against Land Encroachments

In a continued effort to safeguard community spaces and ensure the lawful use of public property, the District Administration of South Andaman has intensified its monitoring of government land, successfully restoring encroached areas over the past few days.

Revenue officials from the Sri Vijaya Puram tehsil recently conducted a significant eviction operation at Calicut village, where a tin shed had been illegally constructed on government revenue land. As a result, a total area of 200 square meters of government land was cleared and restored to its original condition.

In another operation, authorities at Hutbay village successfully reclaimed 900 square meters of government revenue land that had been encroached upon by a fencing structure. The land has now been returned to the Government Khata, ensuring its lawful use.

Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, has issued a stern warning to the public, urging them to refrain from encroaching on government land. The administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards such violations, and any individuals found supporting encroachers will face severe legal consequences.

Residents and members of the public are encouraged to report any instances of land encroachment to the District Control Room.
