South Andaman District Police Swiftly Cracks Theft Case, Recovers Rupees 14 Lakhs Stolen Cash

The South Andaman District Police showcased commendable professionalism in cracking a recent blind theft case, leading to the prompt arrest of the accused individuals identified as Jitan Kalu Solanki and Palash Sarkar. These individuals, residents of different regions, were involved in the crime that occurred at Nayagaon’s GS Store on November 6th, 2023, resulting in the theft of Rs. 14 lakhs in cash.

The incident prompted the registration of FIR No. 299/2023 U/s 380 IPC at PS Aberdeen against unknown persons. The theft, occurring at 1700 hrs on November 6th, involved the stolen cash kept in a shopping bag beside the complainant’s chair near the cash counter.

Responding swiftly to the complaint, the Aberdeen Police formed a dedicated team, helmed by SI Jeevan and IO ASI Muthu. This team, comprising HC Vinod, HC Jiju, PC S.N Rao, PC Jagdish Babu, PC Surender Singh, PC S. Jairaj, PC Vijay Singh, PC Prabhat Kumar Bala, and LPC Naw Eleen, meticulously analysed nearly 10 kilometres of CCTV footage.

Their diligent efforts led to the identification and subsequent apprehension of the culprits, facilitating the recovery of the stolen Rs. 14 lakhs in cash, a mobile phone, and various other items. This breakthrough was a testament to the meticulous investigative work, leveraging CCTV analysis, intelligence gathering, and exemplary teamwork.

The collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community played a pivotal role in swiftly resolving this theft case, bringing justice to the victims. The South Andaman District Police expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation and encouraged continued vigilance.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, closely supervised by Mr. Ajay Rai, DANIPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman, and overseen by Mr. Kalaivanan R., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
