South Andaman District Police Swiftly Solves Murder Case Within Three Hours

In a remarkable display of efficiency and commitment, the South Andaman District Police solved a murder case within three hours of receiving the report. 

On June 15, 2024, the Humfrygunj Police Station received an urgent call reporting a murder at Dhanikhari. Acting swiftly, a dedicated team was formed, comprising SI G. Mohan Rao, SHO PS Humfrygunj, ASI R.C. Singh, and other police staff. The team rushed to the scene and found the lifeless body of a resident from Chouldari. An eyewitness at the scene identified the accused, who had allegedly attacked the victim with a ‘Dah’ following a confrontation.

The accused fled the scene and made extensive efforts to evade capture. However, the dedicated police team of the South Andaman District, under the leadership of SDPO Bambooflat and the overall supervision of the Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, managed to apprehend the suspect within three hours.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law at the Humfrygunj Police Station, and the crime scene has been meticulously documented. In addition, four individuals who harboured the accused and attempted to destroy evidence were also arrested.
