South Andaman Forest Division Seizes Hand-Sawn Timber from Mannarghat Range

The South Andaman Forest Division conducted a successful anti-illegal logging operation at Mannarghat Range, resulting in the seizure of 13 pieces of hand-sawn timber, measuring 0.876 cubic meters.

Acting on credible information, the Mobile Squad Range, under the supervision of ACF(HQ), carried out routine patrolling in Coupe No. IX of Shoal Bay 19 on 25 August 2025. The operation was led by FG P. Mujibur Rehman, assisted by Ganesh Sahoo, Paul Mark, Vishal Minj, RPS Mazdoors, and Sandeep, FCL, under the guidance of Range Officer, Mobile Squad Mr. Hosea.

The confiscated timber has been handed over to the Beat Officer of Shoal Bay 19 for safe custody. No offenders were apprehended during the operation, and an unknown case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Indian Forest Act, 1927.
