South Andaman Police Busts Prostitution Ring in Dollygunj: Three Arrested

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the South Andaman District Police has apprehended three individuals allegedly involved in prostitution in Dollygunj.

The operation, which took place on May 13, 2024, was initiated based on credible information received. Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat reported at PS Pahargaon on directions of senior officials to lead the operation. It was reported that Ms. Soma Mondal was purportedly operating a brothel in a rented house in Dollygunj. Acting swiftly, a raiding team led by Miss Anushtha Kalia, IPS(P), along with other officers and independent witnesses, was formed.

Upon reaching the location, the team, comprising SI Sudhir Kumar, HC MS Anil Kumar, PCs T. Venkateshwar Rao, Lendha Horo, Vinod, R. Devika, V A Prabhakaran, and Abhay Kumar Yadav of PS Pahargaon, conducted a thorough search of the premises. During the raid, three individuals, identified as Soma Mondal, Rinku Jana, and M. Farida Bibi, were found engaged in immoral activities.

Substantial evidence was collected during the raid, implicating the three women in acts of prostitution. Additionally, all three confessed to their involvement in the illicit trade. They were promptly arrested under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, following due process.

This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement authorities in combatting immoral trafficking. The raid was carried out under the supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. South Andaman District Police assures the public of continued vigilance and stringent actions against perpetrators of such crimes.
