South Andaman Police Nabs One with 505 Grams of Ganja

Continuing its endeavour towards drug free society, the South Andaman District Police has arrested one drug peddler with recovery of 505 grams of illicit ganja. 

On 11th April 2023, ASI Jagdish Prasad, I/c OP Ferrargunj developed credible information from reliable source that one person, a resident of Brichgunj area was likely to visit Junglighat Post Office to receive ganja. Based on the tip, a raiding team consisting of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, ASI Jagdish Prasad, I/c OP Ferrergunj, PCs Shahid, Khokan Dutta and PC (D) Sam Peter was constituted and raid was conducted. 

The raiding team apprehended the accused person red handed with 505 grams of illicit ganja. The accused person was arrested under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and a case has been registered at PS Aberdeen under NDPS Act against the said accused. The entire raid was supervised by Mr. Sunny Gupta, SDPO, South Andaman. 

The general public has been requested to share information pertaining to illegal activities and other crime to Police at 112, 03192-232100, 03192-233077 & 03192-232400 to make a healthy and drug free society. Police informed that the identity of the informant will be kept secret.
