In a concerted effort to bring left-out artisans and craftsmen into the fold of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, a Special Registration Camp was organized on April 17, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office in Rangat, Middle Andaman.

The camp was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Vikash Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Middle Andaman, and led by the Deputy Director from the Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration. The event witnessed the presence of key officials, including the Block Development Officer, administrative staff, and enthusiastic participation from PRI members.

Aimed at facilitating on-the-spot registration under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana—a flagship initiative of the Hon’ble Prime Minister—the camp focused on empowering traditional artisans engaged in age-old trades such as carpentry, blacksmithing, pottery, and cobbling. Participants were informed about the scheme’s wide-ranging benefits, including skill development, toolkits, financial assistance, and national recognition.

The camp marked the successful enrolment of 11 eligible artisans. Commending the positive response from the community, the Assistant Commissioner reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to uplifting traditional craftsmen and ensuring their integration into the mainstream economy. He also urged continued cooperation to ensure that no eligible artisan is left behind.

Approximately 30 artisans attended the camp, which concluded on an encouraging note. Officials confirmed that more such camps are in the pipeline to ensure greater awareness and coverage. Interested beneficiaries can contact the local administration or visit the official PM Vishwakarma portal for further information.
