The process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Rolls has commenced across all districts of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the objective of ensuring the accurate and updated enumeration of eligible voters.
As part of this exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits to distribute pre-printed Enumeration Forms in duplicate to electors. Voters are required to fill in the necessary details, sign the forms, and affix a recent colour passport-size photograph in the designated space. The BLOs will assist electors throughout the process and subsequently collect the completed forms during their follow-up visits.
Authorities have clarified that no supporting documents will be collected from electors during the enumeration phase.
Appealing for public cooperation, the Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. L. Kumar, IAS, urged all eligible voters to extend full support to the BLOs during the house-to-house enumeration, which will be conducted from 4th November to 4th December 2025.
The Chief Electoral Officer emphasized that this exercise is a vital step to maintain the integrity of the electoral database in line with the motto of the Election Commission of India:
“No eligible voter to be left out, and no ineligible person included in the Electoral Roll.”
