Responding swiftly to numerous reports highlighting the pervasive presence of Lehan and Bhatti in the Talbagan area, SI Silpi Singha of PS Kalighat orchestrated decisive action by assembling a specialized team. This proactive team, led by SI Abdul Sajeed and composed of PCs Sushil Sarkar, Ranjit Biswas, and Suresh Soreng, was tasked with executing an extensive search operation within the dense confines of the Talbagan jungles.
The rigorous efforts of this dedicated unit bore fruit when they stumbled upon a significant cache of Lehan, totalling a staggering 1200 litres. The contraband substance had been astutely concealed within the Talbagan creek and jungle, strategically positioned deep within the jungle away from the main road.
In the course of the operation, a total of 17 buckets containing the illicit substance were found from both locations. Intriguingly, no individuals staking claim to the stashes were present, prompting the Kalighat Police team to swiftly initiate the destruction of the confiscated Lehan, alongside the associated paraphernalia and Bhatti.
This successful operation stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of the North & Middle Andaman District Police in combatting illegal activities and upholding law and order within the community.
The entire undertaking was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, with the overarching guidance and oversight of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
