Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament Andaman and Nicobar Islands has requested the Chief Secretary to instruct the Health Department and Port Blair Municipal Council to ramp up the anti-dengue measures by forming quick action teams. He also requested creating awareness among the general public regarding dengue.
MP informed the Chief Secretary that there is a spike in cases of dengue in South Andaman District.
Mr. Sharma added that dengue is preventable and therefore a massive awareness drive among the general public is required, explaining the precautions to be taken to stop the spread of the mosquito-borne viral disease.
