To mark FIT India Week 2024, the Sports Authority of India (SAI), under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is hosting a poster competition aimed at promoting fitness awareness among students, parents, teachers, and educational institutions across India.
FIT India Week, an annual initiative under the flagship Fit India Movement launched in 2019, aims to foster a culture of fitness and health across the nation. This week-long celebration includes a variety of activities such as fitness challenges, yoga sessions, sports events, and awareness campaigns to engage people of all ages. The theme for this year focuses on inclusivity and health, emphasising the importance of physical activity for holistic well-being.
As part of the celebrations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, schoolchildren up to 18 years of age are invited to participate in a poster competition. The themes for the competition are “FIT India, Healthy India” or “Sports For Tribals/Indigenous Groups.”
Participants must submit their posters on standard drawing paper (any size). Details such as Name, Date of Birth, Class, and School name must be mentioned on the reverse side of the submission. Entries missing these details may be disqualified.
The last date for submission is December 24, 2024. Posters can be submitted at the Office of the Sports Authority of India, Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram, between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM on working days. Schools and colleges can also submit entries collectively on behalf of their students.
The winners will be rewarded with cash prizes: Rs. 10,000 for the first prize, Rs. 5,000 for the second prize, and Rs. 2,000 for the third prize. This initiative aims to inspire young minds to creatively express the importance of fitness.
