Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Dollygunj recently hosted a dynamic Startup Boot Camp, empowering over 100 students with the knowledge and tools to transform their ideas into viable businesses. Organized by the Industries Department, the event aimed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among young minds.
The participating students received comprehensive briefings on the Startup India scheme, gaining insights into the procedures for establishing a startup and the benefits offered by the Government of India. The boot camp served as a crucial platform for students to understand the intricacies of startup formation and the resources available to support their entrepreneurial journey.
Mr. Venkatesh Ch, Principal of ITI, graced the event as the chief guest. He emphasized the rewarding experience of forming startups, highlighting the practical learning and potential financial gains. He encouraged students to leverage the resources and networks available through their educational institution and to stay committed to their vision of self-employment.
Mrs. Sunitha Kumari, Assistant Director (Tech) at the Directorate of Industries and Nodal Officer for the Startup India Scheme in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, provided detailed information on the rules and procedures of the scheme. She urged students not to limit themselves to academic studies but to pursue their ideas actively and become job providers rather than job seekers.
A highlight of the event was a presentation by M/s Unicorniz Innovations Pvt. Ltd., a DPIIT-recognized startup from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The company shared its success journey and delivered a live demonstration of their AR/VR software, showcasing virtual reality tours of prominent tourism spots in the islands.
The boot camp concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shahid Khan, Industries Promotion Officer. Students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow, marking the event as a resounding success.
With the enthusiasm and knowledge gained from the boot camp, the participating students are now better equipped to embark on their entrepreneurial ventures, driving innovation and economic growth in the region.
