The State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS), known as PARAKH, was carried out with great success in the picturesque Andaman & Nicobar Islands on November 3, 2023. The survey, organised by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), covered students in Grades 3, 6, and 9 across the entire archipelago.
A total of approximately 6,500 students hailing from all nine educational blocks, which include 145 schools under various management structures, participated in SEAS 2023, marking a significant milestone in the region’s education assessment efforts.
SEAS serves as a comprehensive assessment of schools in India, specifically designed to evaluate the overall health of the education system at the block level. This includes Government, Government-aided, and private schools. The findings from the survey hold great significance as they play a pivotal role in informing policy-making, strategic planning, and the development of pedagogical interventions aimed at improving student learning outcomes at the grassroots level.
The successful conduct of SEAS in Andaman & Nicobar Islands underlines the commitment of the Ministry of Education and NCERT to ensure that every student’s educational journey is supported by data-driven insights. The survey, in its entirety, contributes to the enhancement of the education system and the overall growth of the nation.
