A three-day State-level re-orientation training programme on the “Management of Metabolic Disorders in the Homoeopathic System of Medicine” concluded on Thursday. The programme was organized by the AYUSH Wing of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar State AYUSH Society (ANSAS) under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM), for Medical Officers and Community Health Officers (Homoeo) under the Health Department.
The training featured expert sessions by eminent professionals in the field, including Dr. Pradip Kumar Bairi, former Professor and Head of the Department of Repertory at MBH Medical College and Hospital, former Guest Faculty at the National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, and former Professor at D.N. De Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. Dr. Sajeev, BHMS, MD (Practice of Medicine), Chief Medical Officer, Department of Homoeopathy, Government of Kerala and District Convenor of the Janani Infertility Project, and Dr. Santi Adhikari, Research Officer In-charge at the Central Research Unit, Sri Vijaya Puram under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), Government of India, also led technical sessions.
Dr. Manabika Dutta, Medical Officer In-charge (Homoeo), AYUSH, DHS, along with participating trainees, attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Subroto Saha, Project Director, ANACS, DHS, lauded the efforts of the AYUSH Wing and emphasized that homoeopathy, as a holistic system of medicine, plays a significant role in managing metabolic disorders, especially in the context of their rising prevalence across the country.
The programme included interactive components such as role plays and case-based discussions to enhance practical understanding among participants.
