State-Level Science Exhibition ‘Gyanodaya’ Concludes with Enthusiastic Participation

The two-day Rajya Stariya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshini (RSBVP-2024-25), themed ‘Gyanodaya,’ concluded successfully at the auditorium of Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram on 7th December 2024. Organized by the Science Wing of the Directorate of Education in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha and DESM-NCERT New Delhi, the exhibition showcased exceptional scientific talent, with students connecting theoretical concepts to practical applications and addressing real-world challenges through innovative exhibits.

Ms. Smitha R., IAS, Secretary (Education), graced the valedictory function as the chief guest. In her address, she lauded the enthusiasm and creativity of the students, whose exhibits reflected a deep understanding of scientific principles. She commended the efforts of the Education Department for organizing the event and extended appreciation to teachers, parents, and institutions for inspiring students to participate with dedication.

The Secretary also expressed delight over the active participation of students from remote islands, congratulating all participants and winners while wishing them a bright future. She, along with other dignitaries, distributed prizes to the winners during the ceremony.

The Director (Education), Dr. Jatinder Sohal, welcomed the chief guest and attendees, emphasizing the exhibition’s success in encouraging scientific exploration among students. Esteemed guests, including Mr. Gyan Sheel Dubey (Head of Office), Dr. Arun Pratap, Associate Professor, and Dr. Lalmin, Assistant Professor from NCERT, New Delhi, were present to witness the event.

The prestigious Rolling Trophy for RSBVP 2024-25 (Gyanodaya) was awarded to the South Andaman Zone. Ms. Ritika Biswas from GSSS Tushnabad won the Most Popular Award for her exhibit ‘Math Magic,’ while a special award was presented to Birbal Lohra, a CwSN student from GSSS Vijay Nagar, for his exhibit on ‘Andaman Endemic Species.’

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ram Parvesh, Deputy Director of Education (Science), marking the end of a successful exhibition that highlighted the scientific ingenuity of young minds.
