The Science Centre, Sri Vijaya Puram, organized a State-Level Science Project Competition for students from classes VII to XII. The event, held on December 21, saw the participation of 27 science projects and models from schools across the region.
The projects, covering various scientific themes, were put on public display, showcasing the innovative ideas of young minds. A panel of esteemed judges evaluated the models, selecting the top three entries for recognition. The competition attracted schools from Sri Vijaya Puram and surrounding areas, demonstrating the talent and creativity of the students.
Following the exhibition, a felicitation ceremony was held at the Science Centre auditorium. The first-place award was presented to Animesh Roy from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line, for his project on the “IOT-Based Food Spoilage Detecting System.” The second prize went to K. Harsith from Mahatma Gandhi International School, Brookshabad, for his innovative “Soil Heat Synergy” project, while the third place was awarded to B. Megna from Kamaraj Sr. Sec School for her project on “Geostationary Satellite.”
The winners were honoured with trophies, cash awards of Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000, and Rs. 2000, along with individual certificates. Dr. Lalji Singh, Joint Director and Scientist at the Botanical Survey of India, A&N Administration, graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented the awards to the students.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Debashis Paul, Education Officer at the Science Centre, who ensured the smooth conduct of the competition and the felicitation ceremony.
This event provided an excellent platform for young students to showcase their scientific knowledge and innovative thinking.
