State-Level Selection Trials for Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 Rescheduled in A&N Islands

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, will conduct State-Level Selection Trials for tribal youth for participation in the first edition of the Khelo India Tribal Games (KITG) 2026, to be organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in Chhattisgarh.

The Khelo India Tribal Games 2026 are exclusively meant for tribal youth in the open-age category and aim to provide a national platform to showcase sporting talent, enable talent identification, and create structured development pathways for gifted and promising tribal athletes.

The selection trials, which were earlier scheduled for January 6 and 7, 2026, have been postponed by one day and rescheduled following requests received from the Tribal Council.

As per the revised schedule, selection trials for Football (Men), Football (Women), Hockey (Men) and Hockey (Women) will be held on January 7, 2026, from 10.00 am at the Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.

Trials for Swimming (Men) will take place on January 7, 2026, from 8.00 am at the Swimming Pool, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram, while trials for Swimming (Women) will be conducted on January 8, 2026, from 8.00 am at the Swimming Pool, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Selection trials for Athletics (Men) and Athletics (Women) are scheduled on January 8, 2026, from 10.00 am at the Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.

Trials for Weightlifting (Men) and Weightlifting (Women) will also be held on January 8, 2026, from 10.00 am at the Modern Sports Complex, Lapathy, Car Nicobar.

Selection trials for Archery (Men – Recurve & Compound) and Archery (Women – Recurve & Compound) will be conducted on January 8, 2026, from 10.00 am at the Archery Range, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Interested tribal youth have been requested to attend the selection trials along with mandatory documents issued by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, including the original Scheduled Tribe Certificate with two self-attested copies and the original State Domicile Certificate (Islander Card/Local Certificate, etc.) with two self-attested copies.
