State Library Inaugurates Second Tent Library at Govt. Primary School in Garacharma

In a continued effort to nurture a reading culture among young learners, the State Library under the Directorate of Education inaugurated its second Tent Library at Government Primary School (GPS), Garacharma on Friday. The initiative marks another step towards creating child-friendly and engaging learning spaces at the grassroots level.

The Tent Library was inaugurated by Ms. Archana Singh, Deputy Director of Education (Planning), who attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Ms. Jothi, Vice Principal of PM SHRI GSSS Garacharma, the Headmistress of GPS Garacharma, and the In-charge of the State Library.

As part of the inaugural programme, a Glove Puppetry Act was performed by Ms. Shivani Ghosh, PST, GSSS Garacharma. The performance added an element of fun and creativity to the occasion and helped spark curiosity and interest in reading among the children.

The Tent Library provides access to storybooks and other age-appropriate reading materials in an open and informal setting, encouraging children to explore books freely and develop a joyful reading habit. The initiative reflects the Directorate of Education’s sustained commitment to strengthening the reading culture and fostering lifelong learning among primary school students.
