Stolen Jewellery Articles Recovered and Returned to Owner by PS Ograbraj

In a significant breakthrough for the local law enforcement, the Ograbraj Police successfully recovered stolen jewellery articles and returned them to their rightful owner on 21st June 2022. The case involved the theft of approximately 35.5 grams of gold ornaments from a residence in Badmash Pahad, Chouldari, resulting in a prompt investigation that ultimately led to the apprehension of the suspect.

The case was registered at PS Ograbraj following the report of a burglary. Head Constable Bijoy Sarkar of PS Ograbraj was entrusted with the investigation. Despite the suspect initially eluding authorities, the police department remained steadfast in their efforts to track down the individual behind the theft.

A dedicated police team, headed by Sub-Inspector Devanand Pathak, SHO of PS Ograbraj, was formed to lead the investigation. The team included Police Constables Rakesh Narayan, Biplob Das, Agassi Clinton, and M Mohammed Arif. Their unrelenting efforts ultimately resulted in the arrest of Sanjay Kumar Das, aged 38, son of Mr. Dhiren Das, from Subash Gram, Diglipur.

Following Das’s arrest and sustained interrogation, he provided crucial information about the whereabouts of the stolen gold ornaments. These stolen items were traced to various financial entities and jewellery shops. Some of the gold ornaments were recovered from a financial entity in the Junglighat area and a jewellery shop in Bhatubasti. The remaining stolen gold ornaments were found in Subashgram, Madhupur, with the assistance of Inspector K Binoj, SHO PS Diglipur, and a team comprising Police Constables Akash Ch. Bepari, K.P Pandey, Radheshyam Hawlader, Anjana Paul, and Mrityunjay Das, all from PS Diglipur, working under the overall supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur.

In total, all the stolen gold ornaments, valued at approximately Rs. 2,27,500/-, were successfully recovered. Subsequently, the case has been chargesheeted, and the recovered gold ornaments have been returned to their rightful owners. The success of this case and the recovery of the stolen property were made possible due to the dedicated and coordinated efforts of the police team under the overall supervision of Mr. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, DANIPS, SDPO (Bambooflat).
