In a commendable educational initiative, students from Government Secondary School (GSS) Junglighat took center stage with a powerful Nukkad Natak focused on disaster management and fire safety. The event, held in front of the school in Port Blair, South Andaman, highlighted the crucial need for preparedness in the face of natural calamities, blending essential safety information with engaging performances.
The Nukkad Natak, which drew a significant audience, addressed vital protocols to follow during emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Through a creative and entertaining approach, the students illustrated the correct actions to take during such crises while humorously portraying common mistakes to avoid. The performance aimed to instill a strong sense of awareness and responsibility among the audience, especially the younger members of the school community.
The initiative was organized under the supervision of Mrs. Aziz Fatma, Vice Principal of GSS Junglighat. The students received comprehensive training from Mrs. Priyanka Talukdar, CI Music, whose guidance was instrumental in refining their performances and ensuring the clear communication of critical safety messages.
The Nukkad Natak has been met with widespread praise from both the school administration and parents. Vice Principal Mrs. Fatma lauded the students for their dedication and the effectiveness of their performance in conveying vital safety information. She emphasised the importance of such educational activities in a region prone to natural disasters, noting that preparedness is essential for minimising risks and safeguarding lives.
Mrs. Talukdar also expressed her pride in the students’ efforts, highlighting the significance of using creative mediums like Nukkad Natak to educate and engage the community. She noted that the performance not only served as a valuable learning experience for the students but also helped enhance their public speaking and acting skills.
