A group of 36 students from Government Senior Secondary School, Wimberlygunj, visited the ICAR–Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (CIARI) on 17th September 2025, to gain first-hand exposure to the latest agricultural research and innovations.

The students were welcomed by Mr. D. Karunakaran, Scientist, who briefed them on CIARI’s research initiatives in agriculture, horticulture, crop science, fisheries, and animal science. He also highlighted career opportunities in the fields of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Animal Husbandry.

The students further toured the Freshwater Ornamental Fish Culture Unit, where they were introduced to breeding and rearing techniques for aquarium fish, particularly live-bearer ornamental varieties.
