In an unwavering effort to eradicate bootlegging and curb the flow of illicit liquor, authorities in the N&MA District have adopted a zero-tolerance strategy, leading to a series of jungle search operations. The recent operation has proven to be highly effective, resulting in the recovery of a significant quantity of illicit liquor.
Under the leadership of ASI B. Halder, a determined police team comprising members from OP Kishori Nagar and PS Kalighat, including PCs Subroto Biswas, Baikant Majhi, and Susheel Sarkar, ventured deep into the dense forest of Tal Bagan area. The team’s relentless pursuit led to the discovery and destruction of approximately 1100 liters of “Lehan” (a fermented wash used in the preparation of illicit liquor) stored in 12 plastic buckets and iron drums. Additionally, utensils and other equipment utilized for the distillation of illicit liquor were also seized during the operation.
The swift action taken by the police has garnered praise and appreciation from the general public in the area. The crackdown on bootlegging activities and illicit liquor is seen as a significant step towards maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of the local communities.
Emphasizing their commitment to curbing illegal activities, the District Police urged the public to report any credible information related to crime or illicit operations. Citizens were encouraged to contact their nearest police station or use the helpline numbers 100, 112, and 03192-273344 to share any relevant details. The authorities assured that the identity of informers would be kept confidential and that they would be suitably rewarded for their cooperation.
The jungle search operations have proven to be an effective tool in the fight against bootlegging and illicit liquor trade, sending a clear message to those engaged in such illegal activities that they will face stern consequences. The District Police continue to be vigilant in their mission to maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents, and their efforts have won the trust and support of the public in their pursuit of justice.
