In a decisive operation carried out on January 16, 2024, the Billiground Police showcased their dedication to combating illegal activities by successfully destroying a substantial quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Govindpur-2 village under PS Billiground.
Responding swiftly to the intelligence, SI Shiju Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Billiground, took charge and formed a specialised team led by SI Indrajit. The team, consisting of ASI Murcha Munda, HCs Amrita Bawali and Sandip, and PCs Selvam, Mustafa, Anirudh, and Antony, executed the operation flawlessly.
The law enforcement team successfully confiscated 800 litres of Lehan stored in 7 drums and 4 Jericans, along with various utensils and timber materials used for the preparation of illicit liquor. These materials were discreetly concealed within the jungle. Subsequently, all confiscated items and the structures used for the illicit liquor production, known as Bhatti structures, were promptly destroyed, delivering a significant blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
The entire operation unfolded under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.

The identities of informers will be kept confidential, and suitable rewards will be provided for their assistance in maintaining law and order. The successful raid underscores the commitment of the Billiground Police in their relentless efforts to curb illicit activities in the region.
