Mr. Shahul Hameed, Chairperson, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council, called on Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency, on Monday at Lok Niwas.
During the meeting, issues relating to urban management were discussed in view of the growing population and the exponential increase in tourist traffic in the Islands.
The need to provide added impetus to the Swachh Bharat initiative was discussed with a view to strengthening cleanliness and sanitation efforts. The meeting also discussed the importance of having a long-term plan for water management to address the increasing demand for water resources.
