Swaraj Dweep Police Seizes 116 Grams of Charas and 271 Grams of Ganja, Arrests Dive Master in Anti-Drug Operation

In a decisive move to combat drug-related activities and preserve the serene atmosphere of Swaraj Dweep, the local police successfully apprehended an individual found in possession of Charas and Ganja. The arrest was made on January 29, 2024, following credible information received by the Swaraj Dweep Police.

A dedicated team, led by Inspector N. Zainuddin, Station House Officer (SHO) of Swaraj Dweep, carried out the operation, which included Head Constables Patrick, Nishal Ruben Ekka, Constables Prashanth, Suraj Kumar, and Joga Rao. Acting swiftly on the received intelligence, the team conducted a raid at Govind Nagar No. 01, resulting in the arrest of Joshwa Josey, a 25-year-old Dive Master residing at Govind Nagar No. 03.

During the operation, the police recovered 116 grams of Charas and 271 grams of Ganja from Joshwa Josey’s possession. A case under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at PS Swaraj Dweep, and an ongoing investigation is underway.

The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Swaraj Dweep, and the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Kalaivanan R, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
