Swaraj Dweep Police Seizes 565 Grams of Ganja and Arrests One Individual

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Swaraj Dweep Police have apprehended an individual and seized 565 grams of Ganja. The arrest and seizure followed credible information and a well-executed operation led by Inspector N. Zainuddin of the Swaraj Dweep Police Station.

On November 4, 2023, the Swaraj Dweep Police received reliable information that an individual was in possession of illicit ganja and was actively seeking customers to distribute the contraband from his shop located at Govind Nagar No.03. In response to this tip-off, Inspector N. Zainuddin spearheaded a specialized team, comprising dedicated officers, including PCs Suraj Kumar, A. P. Mohd. Asif, A. Amit Kumar, Abdul Basheer, and Tentus Tirkey.

The well-coordinated raid was conducted at the suspect’s pan shop at Govind Nagar No.03, which culminated in the arrest of Mr. Balram Paramanik, aged 36 and a resident of Govind Nagar No.03, Swaraj Dweep. During the operation, 565 grams of Ganja were seized from Mr. Paramanik’s possession.

A case has been registered against the arrested individual under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Swaraj Dweep Police Station. The investigation into the matter is currently underway, under the able supervision of Mr. Vinay Mathur, DANIPS, SDPO Swaraj Dweep, and under the overall direction and guidance of Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
