The Andaman & Nicobar Islands will join the rest of the country in observing the ‘Swasthya Nari Sashakt Parivar’ campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The fortnight-long initiative aims to strengthen women’s health and promote family well-being through a series of health-oriented activities.
As part of the campaign, special health camps will be organized across the Islands, offering specialist consultations, anaemia screening, NCD (Non-Communicable Diseases) screening, adolescent health check-ups, and menstrual hygiene awareness sessions. Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials on nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices will also be widely displayed and distributed to spread awareness among the community.
Health authorities have appealed to the public to register at their nearest health centres and avail the benefits of these free services. The campaign is expected to enhance awareness on preventive health care, the importance of nutrition, and the critical role of women’s health in building stronger families and communities.
In addition, ‘Poshan Maah’ will be observed at all Anganwadi Centres during the same period, focusing on nutrition, maternal and child health, and overall well-being. The participation of private hospitals and healthcare stakeholders will form an integral part of this Jan Bhagidari Abhiyaan, ensuring wider outreach and impact.
