In a prompt and effective response to recent housebreaking incidents in Sitanagar, the Diglipur Police Station has successfully apprehended suspects and recovered stolen goods. The thefts, involving household articles and a mobile phone, led to the registration of two cases under relevant sections of the IPC.
Inspector K Binoj spearheaded the formation of a special investigative team led by SI Dheeraj Kishen. The team included SI Abdul Shakil, HC V.M. Prasad, and PCs Michael Paul, Devsai Toppo, and Aboobaker Siddque. Their mission was to trace and apprehend the culprits behind the thefts.
Through extensive searches, intelligence gathering, and the activation of local informers, the team identified Suraj Mazumder, also known as Gullu, as the prime suspect. They also discovered that a child in conflict with the law (CCL) was involved. Acting swiftly, the team executed a carefully planned operation, resulting in the apprehension of both the accused and the CCL.
During a thorough interrogation, Suraj Mazumder confessed to his involvement in both thefts. The diligent efforts of the investigative team led to the recovery of the stolen items from the accused, marking a significant success in the case.
The police have commended the community’s cooperation, emphasizing the crucial role of swift action and collaboration in ensuring justice. The recovered items and evidence are expected to play a pivotal role in the forthcoming legal proceedings against the accused.
