Teacher Alleges Mistreatment by Patwari at Mus Jetty

Mr. Panner Selvam, GTT attached to Govt. Secondary School, Arong, Car Nicobar has alleged that a Patwari deputed at Mus Jetty, Car Nicobar has mistreated and physically pushed him on 14th October 2021 when he went to receive his wife and daughter who were travelling from Port Blair to Car Nicobar.

Mr. Panner Selvam informed Nicobar Times that he was walking to his vehicle parked outside the passenger hall with his daughter and heavy luggage when the Patwari shouted at him to go and get his entry done. Mr. Selvam added that he informed him that he is not a passenger and his wife has completed all formalities. Mr. Selvam claims that the Patwari then came near him and pushed him, which disbalanced him and his little daughter. 

Mr. Selvam added that the Patwari who was deputed at the Jetty to ensure that people follow COVID-19 norms and also adhere to the entry formalities, he himself was not following the COVID protocols.

Mr. Selvam informed Nicobar Times that he has lodged a Police Complaint against the Patwari and added that the Patwari humiliated him in-front of others at the Jetty.

Mr. Selvam has demanded stringent action against the Patwari as per the law and said that the act of Patwari is a great insult to the entire teacher’s community.
