A teacher posted in the Nicobar group of islands has brought laurels to the region with his literary accomplishment. Mr. Sumeet Ram, a teacher at Government Senior Secondary School, Kapanga in Katchal, has had his poem published in a prestigious Hindi poetry anthology supported by the International Hindi Committee, America.
Dhairya NGO and noted social worker V.D. Leju have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Ram for his achievement, describing it as a proud moment for the islands’ literary community.
The anthology features contributions from 51 poets and poetesses, with the works compiled and arranged according to their dates of birth. The book has been edited by Mr. Ramesh Joshi, a former teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya who had served in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands several decades ago. Inspired by the linguistic diversity and scenic beauty of the islands, Mr. Joshi has maintained a strong connection with the region’s literary culture.
Praising Mr. Ram’s accomplishment, Dhairya NGO and Mr. Leju said that such recognition highlights the growing contribution of island-based writers to Hindi literature. They noted that his achievement would motivate young writers and students to actively pursue literary and creative expression.
They further stated that the inclusion of Mr. Ram’s poem in the anthology is a matter of pride not only for Government Senior Secondary School, Kapanga (Katchal), but also for the entire island community.
Expressing optimism for the future, Dhairya NGO hoped that Mr. Sumeet Ram would continue to contribute to Hindi literature and inspire the younger generation through his writing and dedication to education.
