The students studying in Classes 10th and 12th at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Goal Tekry, Kamorta are suffering because of the non-availability of teachers at the School. Central Board of Secondary Education has released the date sheet for the Term – I examination for both 10th and 12th Standard. The Examination of major subjects for Class 10th is due to start on 30th of November 2021 and for class 12th it is due to start on 1st of December 2021.
According to the sources, most of the Subject teachers are not available in Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Goal Tekry, Kamorta and the students will now have to appear in the Term – I examination of CBSE without any preparation and without the syllabus being taught in the school.
Mr. Aslam Majid, District President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Nicobar District informed Nicobar Times that it is unfortunate for the students that they will have to appear in the CBSE examinations without any preparation and without being taught anything in the school.
According to sources teachers for Biology, Maths, English and Physics are currently not available in Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Goal Tekry.
Mr. Aslam Majid also informed Nicobar Times that the Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowrie has proceeded to Port Blair and will meet the officials of the Education Department and request them to depute the required teachers immediately so that the students can be taught something before the examination.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CBSE has introduced the new scheme of Examinations, where now the board examination will be conducted in two terms Term – I & Term – II.
