In an announcement that affects passengers intending to travel to Little Andaman, the scheduled sailing program of the vessel MV Campbell Bay has been canceled for both its departure from Port Blair on August 31, 2023, and its return voyage from Little Andaman on September 1, 2023. The cancellations are due to unforeseen technical issues.
To ensure minimal disruption for commuters to Little Andaman, the Directorate of Shipping Services has swiftly organized an alternative sailing program. The vessel Nalanda is now set to depart for Little Andaman on August 31, 2023, at 2100 hrs from Haddo Wharf. It will make its return journey to Port Blair on September 1, 2023, departing from Little Andaman at 0800 Hrs.
Passengers who had previously booked tickets for MV Campbell Bay’s canceled trips are advised to take the following steps:
1. Cancel MV Campbell Bay Tickets: Passengers holding tickets for MV Campbell Bay are urged to cancel their existing bookings.
2. Acquire New Tickets for Nalanda: Commuters are encouraged to secure fresh tickets for the Nalanda vessel. STARS Ticketing Counters will be open for this purpose on August 31, 2023, starting from 0900 hrs. It’s important to note that during the issuance of new tickets, priority will be given to passengers who held tickets for MV Campbell Bay.
Additionally, passengers have the option to book their tickets for travel to Little Andaman on August 31, 2023, through the DSS e-ticketing portal at https://dss.andaman.gov.in/. This service will be available between 0900 hrs and 1600 hrs on the same day.
The Directorate of Shipping Services is working diligently to minimise inconvenience and ensure that commuters to Little Andaman can proceed with their travel plans as smoothly as possible.
