As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE) organized a one-day awareness programme titled ‘Viksit Bharat Ka Mantra, Bharat Ho Nashe Se Swatantra’ on August 30, 2025. The initiative sought to highlight the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage the youth to embrace a drug-free lifestyle.

The programme featured talks by experts including Dr. M.K. Mahato (IRCA), SI Manoj Lal and ASI Surya Narayan from the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, Ms. Mariyam Bibi from With You (NGO), Mr. M.K. Naseer from Human Touch (NGO), Mr. Ravinder Rao from the Art of Living, and Ms. Ashrita Falia from the Department of Social Welfare.

The panel addressed various aspects of substance abuse—its root causes, legal consequences, and the hurdles in rehabilitation. They stressed the importance of collective action to curb addiction and build healthier communities.

A special session highlighted meditation and healthy living as preventive and rehabilitative measures against drug abuse. Techniques for improving mental clarity and emotional stability were shared as vital tools in recovery.

The programme also included educational videos showcasing ongoing anti-drug initiatives. TGCE trainees staged a skit promoting the message of a drug-free society, which resonated strongly with the participants.
