Three Arrested at Campbell Bay for Illegal Slaughtering of Bull

Three people have been arrested by team of PS Campbell Bay for illegal slaughtering of a bull on 16th April 2022 at Chingan Village area of Great Nicobar.

The arrests were made after a written complaint was lodged by Mr. Rajan Singh, General Secretary, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Campbell Bay regarding the illegal slaughtering of the bull.

Sources inform that as soon as the complaint was lodged, the Police Team swung into action and nabbed the culprits along with the remains of the bull from the site of the slaughtering.

Mr. Rajan Singh informed Nicobar Times that, earlier he had received information that some people have purchased a bull from a local person at Joginder Nagar and he became suspicious regarding the intent of the purchasers. He further added that he lodged a complaint as he received news of illegal slaughter at Chingan Village.

It is learnt that those arrested were produced before SDM, Campbell Bay and were sent to Judicial Custody.
