Three-Day Happiness Programme Launched for Teachers at Sri Vijaya Puram

The Directorate of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in collaboration with The Art of Living, launched a three-day Happiness Programme at the Teachers’ Home on VIP Road, Sri Vijaya Puram, on Thursday. The programme, being conducted daily from 5.00 a.m. to 7.00 a.m., will continue till January 24, 2026.

The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Vikram Singh, Director of Education & Sports, A&N Administration, who appreciated the initiative and underscored the importance of mental wellness, emotional balance and a positive mindset in enhancing professional efficiency and overall well-being of teaching staff.

Around 50 teachers from various schools across the Islands are participating in the programme. As part of the sessions, participants practised Sudarshan Kriya under the guidance of Mr. Ravinder Rao, an Art of Living teacher from Sri Vijaya Puram, and Ms. Priya Menon, an Art of Living teacher from Bengaluru.

The initiative aims to promote stress management, mental clarity and emotional resilience among teachers, thereby contributing to a healthier and more positive educational environment.
