Three-Day Training on Freshwater Fish Breeding to be Organised at Fisheries Training Centre in Marine Hill

The Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill, under the Department of Fisheries, is set to organize a three-day training programme on ‘Freshwater Fish Breeding and Seed Production’ during the last week of August 2025. The initiative is being supported with financial assistance from the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad, under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

The training will cover key aspects such as broodstock management (selection and maintenance of fish), hatchery management, seed rearing, water quality management, and fish health management. A total of 25 participants will be selected for the programme, and the Department will extend guidance to these individuals to help them take up commercial ventures under the PMMSY scheme.

Applications are invited from fishers, fish farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGs), entrepreneurs, tribal youth, and unemployed individuals interested in participating in the training. Selected candidates will be eligible for Daily Allowance and Travelling Allowance as per NFDB cost norms.

Interested candidates can collect the prescribed application format from the nearest Zonal Fisheries Office, Fisheries Sub-Stations, or the Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill. The completed applications must be submitted on or before 18th August 2025.
