Much has been written about the proposed mega project at Great Nicobar Island in the last three years. Negative commentary on news websites and articles by self-proclaimed environmentalists were published in top publications nationwide.
Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata had called for an Expression of Interest for the Development, Operation and Maintenance of Phase-I of the International Container Transhipment Port At Galathea Bay in Great Nicobar.
Ten entities have filed Expression of Interest with the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited, JSW Infrastructure Limited, Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V., Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd., Container Corporation of India Ltd., Essar Ports, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd., Navayuga Engineering Co Ltd., Vishwa Samudra Holdings Pvt. Ltd and PDP International Pvt. Ltd are the entities that have filed their EOI for the Development, Operation and Maintenance of Phase-I of the International Container Transhipment Port At Galathea Bay in Great Nicobar.
Submission of EOI by ten entities is a tight slap on the rumour mongers and haters of Great Nicobar Project who were counting that their smear campaign against the project will prevent companies from showing interest in the project.
