Tohatsu, the renowned Japanese Outboard Engine manufacturer, has made its splash in the serene waters of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with the launch of its retail sales and service outlet in Port Blair. Partnering with local dealer Anemco Pvt. Ltd., the brand’s inaugural outlet, strategically located in South Point, was inaugurated by Mr. Sudeep Rai Sharma, Chairperson of the Port Blair Municipal Council. The ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished members of the Andaman and Nicobar Chamber of Commerce (ANCCI), including Mr. Surendra Prahladka, Mr. K. Chandrashekhar, and Mr. Mohammed Jadwet.
Tohatsu Outboard Motors, celebrated for their efficiency and quality, boast a comprehensive range of outboard motors (OBMs) ranging from 2.5HP to 140HP, available in both 2-stroke and 4-stroke variants. Mr. Suhehi Tada San and Mr. Tukami Koyama from Tohatsu Japan graced the occasion, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the region.
In a statement to the media, the director of Anemco Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Ebrahim Jadwet, highlighted Tohatsu’s investment in local talent, with the training of indigenous youth from the islands in Chennai for after-sales service. He reiterated the brand’s primary focus on ensuring impeccable after-sales service and the availability of spare parts, underscoring Tohatsu’s dedication to customer satisfaction in the region.
The launch comes at a pivotal moment as the OBM market in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is poised for significant growth, fueled by the opening of new projects and islands in the foreseeable future.
