Government of India has launched a landmark scheme ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ (ONORC) to facilitate migrants in meeting their requirement of food grains at a very affordable cost. This scheme was implemented by the Central Government in a war-footing manner in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Andaman and Nicobar Administration has taken relentless efforts, leaving no stone unturned to implement the scheme within the time frame established by the Central Government. The scheme was made functional by February 2021.
For effective implementation of the ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme, the Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs has launched Toll-Free Numbers 18003454445, 230337 (for Mobile Phones) & 14445 (for Landline Phones). Anyone with queries/grievances can call on the Toll-Free Numbers. Information related to the entitlement of food grains under NFSA will also be given to the consumers through the Toll-Free Numbers. The Toll-Free Numbers will be functional from 8:45 Am to 5:00 Pm.
In addition to the Toll-Free Numbers, the Government of India has launched a mobile App ‘Mera Ration’ to provide ONORC-related services to the beneficiaries of the NFSA, particularly migrant beneficiaries, Fair Price Shops and other stakeholders.
The App can be downloaded through Google Play Store. The App can be used for the registration of migrant beneficiaries, checking of food grain entitlements, last six months’ transactions and the status of Aadhaar seeding.
